In this reflection, I explore the self as a spiritual entity and the complications associated with accepting it as a core truth of being. Supporting themes: The arc of personality and its relatedness with character and temperament; Virtues and values; Personhood and the origins of one's person- state; Emotions, moods and motivations; Spirituality, God and religion; Education (the industry); Rational and irrational thinking; Thoughts, words and emotions; Building community based on virtues or based on trauma; and Recognizing and removing barriers that denies access to our own spirit.
