Social and Emotional Being
Wednesday Jun 23, 2021
Wednesday Jun 23, 2021
In this reflection, I talk about socio-emotional learning (SEL) as the latest buzz word in education. I use the concept to make a case that humans are social and emotional beings and considering our socio-emotional capacity (maturity) is critical to our wellness and growth.

Bubblegum and Fire
Tuesday Jun 22, 2021
Tuesday Jun 22, 2021
In this reflection, I use two loose (incomplete) metaphors to explore self care and personal responsibility (bubblegum and fire). Along the way, I consider the following: the self as a pattern of behaviors (as represented by a recognized pattern of responses to those behaviors); growing yet still loving within intergenerational trauma; respecting certain elements of the socio-emotional world as harmful; perceiving trauma versus feeling trauma; the need for extroverted thinking to have verifiable data; and emotions as a layered phenomenon.

Anger and Control
Monday Jun 21, 2021
Monday Jun 21, 2021
Much of this reflection is about me exploring my relationship to anger as an INTJ8. I talk about when I distance myself from anger and when I lean into it (specifically considering each of the cognitive functions of my stack). Interesting side discussions: INTJ5s relationship to anger and extroverted sensing; rational anger versus irrational anger; and an update on my father (with Stage 4 cancer) and my sister's repressed (??) reaction to it.

Rebellion and Confrontation
Sunday Jun 20, 2021
Sunday Jun 20, 2021
This reflection is about the different ways I was rebellious and confrontational at a 1st Amendment conference (as understood through Enneagram literature for Type 8s). Talking points: status, strength and awe of legal scholars; race and gender; anger and emotion; and body, movement and instinct. [I ran out of time. I will come back later to finish the so what to it all. ]

Fixed Contemplation
Saturday Jun 19, 2021
Saturday Jun 19, 2021
This reflection ends with a question about outward contemplation... in when and how (if at all) one is able to do joint-contemplation with another. Along the way, I talk about contemplation as my default and how joint-contemplation is a must if I'm going to be in any extended conversation with a person. With this in mind, I talk about the different times (and reasons) when my contemplation is halted (usually by someone who wants to control the conversation). Important talking points: intuitive contemplation versus thinking contemplation; immediate impact versus delayed impact; fact versus truth; mansplaining and the body's impact on the knower.

Identity, Power and Knowing
Friday Jun 18, 2021
Friday Jun 18, 2021
This is an event based reflection where I process a meet-and-greet that I was part of last night. I'm at two-day conference for school administrators and had to confront the tensions that exist between my identity (identities) and my occupation. I also talk about knowing as a power-source and interrogate who in the matrix is allowed to know. Random talking points: unemployment checks; Aristotle; political philosophy; inferior-Se and introverted intuition; dating; and networking.

Production, Work and Domains of Living
Tuesday Jun 15, 2021
Tuesday Jun 15, 2021
This reflection starts off being about production paralysis but evolves into a conversation about living, work and physical demands. Random talking points: the power of cosmetics; business, mission work, income and survival; dogs, cars and housing; and resting while still producing.

Sunday Jun 13, 2021
Sunday Jun 13, 2021
In this reflection, I continue my response to seven INTJ women interviewed on YouTube (see Part 1 to learn more). Main concepts: the mastermind stereotype; manipulation; extroverted feeling: and written communication.

Saturday Jun 12, 2021
In response to a content creator I have affectionately named the "INTJ Academic", I connect to his musings about the tertiary function (and its awkwardness).
