Being Orphaned

Part I

Anxiety

In this reflection I process when I experience anxiety, how I notice it, and how I respond to it. Supporting themes: Overwhelm; Grief; Growth; Healthy and Unhealthy Behaviors; Writing; and Reading. Cultural Estrangement

In this reflection I talk about being culturally estranged and how this estrangement adversely impacts my business and quality of life. Supporting themes: Flow; Race; Class; Sense of self; Absentee father; Mourning and grief; Familial intimacy; and Spirituality. Typology: Fi and Ni.

The Absence of Flow

In this reflection I consider my flow state and what I'm like in its absence. Supporting themes: Skills, tasks and talents; Play energy; Being in one's element; Depression and sorrow; Employment and business; and Non- material ownership. Typology: Ni; Te; Fe; Ti; and Ne.

The Jews and Gentiles

In this reflection I consider differentiated and contested love within the context of Christianity. The Jews were God's "chosen" people and the Gentiles, by way of Jesus as a sacrificial offering, were grafted in. While they were included, they never unseated the notion of the *chosen. The chosen remained...giving me a wondering of how this story compares to the narcissistic family structure (no disrespect intended). Charlie and Riley

In this reflection I talk through drama that I'm calling "blended family blues". I spend most of the reflection on my two sisters: my double- sister ("Charlie") and my single-sister ("Riley"). Supporting themes: Intergenerational trauma; Domestic violence; Sibling rivalry; Different baby mamas; Sibling protection; and Trauma bonding.

Contending with Gaps

In this reflection I address the gift of seeing gaps as a burden when trying to do friendship. I also explore the skill of addressing those gaps and the way having this skill becomes an added burden. Finally I consider the contest that can arise when extraverted judging functions (Te and Fe) convene in one space. Authenticity and Harmony

In this reflection I consider my relationship to authenticity and harmony as separate and conjoined concepts. Supporting themes: Race and gender; Grammar (articles, adjectives and modifiers); Possession and belonging; Sibling conflict; Singing and performing; and Intimacy. Typology: Fi and Fe.

To be Holy

In this reflection I explore my INTJ8 self as a condition of the Divine. Supporting themes: Emotions and rational thinking; Deep fears and defensiveness; Socialization and the soul; Animal soul and the Godly soul; Being married to work and avoiding intimacy; Knowing the self; and Values and logic.
