This reflection is Part I in a series on instincts (as relating to the Enneagram personality system [recorded March 6, 2021]). Here I talk about two of the three survival instincts (self-preservation and sexual) and align them to my identity as a Type 8 in that system. This reflection gets personal about sex, friendship, politics and spirituality in a way that is unusual for me in public spaces.
